Runciman Berries and Emus Bed and Breakfast is a farmstay with a difference! Here friendly emus graze in the paddocks and guests can feed them and admire their chicks which hatch between August to October. A horse, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys and a Labrador dog complete the picture. Visitors who stay when the berry harvest is at its peak in December and January, can pick their own boysenberries or raspberries.
This quiet and friendly family farm, run by Sven and Jana, is a rural delight just a 30 minute drive from the heart of Auckland city and 20 minutes from the airport. Overlooking a peaceful green valley, it offers a spacious B&B guest room in the main house and two units in the newly renovated 1930 Villa Emu 50m away.
An ideal spot to begin a tour of the North Island or to enjoy a few relaxing days away with the family, Runciman Berries and Emus has a swimming pool and sauna, a barbecue area, wireless Internet and Sky TV. A baby cot is available on request.
Situated in its namesake Runciman Road, Drury, a tranquil part of the greater Auckland region, Runciman Berries and Emus Bed and Breakfast is an ideal place to stay with ready access to beauty spots in the area, yet close enough to spend some time in the city with its shopping, restaurants, sporting and event venues and tourist attractions. Nearby are the magnificent Hunua Falls and Ranges. Ardmore Airport, Pukekohe V8 racetrack and the Auckland Gliding Club are situated locally; try a sightseeing plane ride for amazing views of Auckland City.
We have three rooms with different configurations:
The guest room in the main house has a queen-size double bed, and a private ensuite with shower, toilet and spa bath. Choose the "family room" option to add a child's bed or cot. This room has its own separate entrance and terrace, and is comfortably furnished with a wardrobe, table, leather couch and TV with Sky TV channels. Also provided are a picnic set with some basic cutlery, a hair dryer and an iron.
Villa Emu is nested in the garden with views over the berry farm, Emu paddocks and the green valley. It has a separate entrance from the road about 50m away from the main house, free parking, BBQ and outdoor seating. There is an outdoor bath tub / shower and the main pool area can be used. The Villa Emu has two units with separate entrances (one Studio and one Apartment).
The studio consists of a bed room with queen size double bed, a bathroom with shower/ toilet and a living room with Sky TV, table and chairs.
The apartment has a bedroom with a king size bed, a living room with wood fire place, Sky TV and sleeping sofa, a kitchenette with microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, dinner table, washing machine and dryer and the big bathroom with a walk in shower and toilet.
Breakfast is included in the B&B room rate, extra at the Villa Emu (Studio and Apartment) on request. There is a choice of continental and cooked breakfasts available, with fresh eggs from the farm, and guests can have them in the farmhouse kitchen or in their room.
Guests are welcome to have the barbecue to cook on their own terrace or they can sit with their hosts, Sven and Jana, in the garden. A swimming pool, and sauna are also available for guests to enjoy.

Runciman Berries and Emus Bed and Breakfast is 20 minutes drive from Auckland International Airport and approximately 30 minutes drive from the Central Business District.
Airport / train station pick-up and drop-off service available.
From State Highway 1, exit the motorway at the Drury off-ramp.
Travel 500m in the Pukekohe direction and turn left into Great South Road.
After 2km, turn right into Runciman Road and follow for 3km.
